Khi xem lại các màn trình diễn của Messi từ hồi 2007 đến 2011 mới thấy Messi bá đạo đến mức nào. Chạy nhanh và vượt xa mọi cầu thủ. Đá banh đối với Messi lúc này thật sự quá dễ dàng.
Bây giờ Messi không còn nhanh nhẹn và bùng nổi được như hồi xưa. Không còn đá cánh nên không tham gia phòng ngự (Messi phòng ngự cũng rất tốt). Không còn đủ sức để đột phá từ giữa sân. Messi bây giờ thiếu đi sức mạnh dẫn đến thiếu sức sống mãnh liệt trong các pha đột phá.
Pep Guardiola có công giúp Barca gắn kết, đá có kỉ luật, chơi bóng có cấu trúc để biến thành 1 tập thể hùng mạnh. Pep 1 phần làm Messi đi xuống là không cho Messi đá biên để tăng cảm giác bóng và thể lực. Ko nên quá cứng nhắc trong việc xếp vị trí.
